We are Nadia Stasinou's fans.

You have probably already understood it!
But check her characters! Aren't they cute and adorable?

Nadia Stasinou a.k.a. Dreamer was interviewed by "Ough!" e-magazine. We couldn't resist reblogging it!
The greek version is here.
Enjoy! =)

Nadia Stasinou: the dreamer and the full moon
by the ough! team

RTM meets Nadia and together they discuss about art, dreams and painting with your eyes closed.

Nadia Stasinou lives, works, creates and keeps on dreaming in Athens. Character creation, short story composing and page creation on a famous magazine are among her many activities. Every day, she uploads a new character on her tumblr.

You are a low profile creator, in an age addicted in social media. Would you describe yourself a bit?
Describe myself? That’s easy. I’d say I’m an ordered and chaotic at the same time personality. I’m very focused on my job –well-composed and structured, while on my artistic life completely on the loose. Truth is that my case is more of a chaotic one.

Your favorite superheroes of your childhood?

Superman! My parents actually. I remember them tucking me in the blanket of hap

piness for hours. Imaginary heroes, with huge arms. Even today I’m referring to their superpowers as a joke. Dad the fearless, and mom, short but wonderful.

Which are the things that bring joy to your life?
Above all I try to paint, to play with my god-child, to walk, to do hugs, to taste, to live for the moment. Sometimes I catch myself being lost in images, smells, beloved things that make me feel good with myself. Content, without knowing exactly who I am.

What is your
main occupation?
I do graphics. I work as an assistant director in a publishing house, it’s nice and creative from time to time creative. Really

Any free time?
(frowning) It’s important so that our organism and our mind can rest. There is some. There are times that he’s a bit late and others that I do the same. Nobody of the two has any ahrd feelings, we both knew from start that it would be difficult. When we finally meet I try to put him in different use each time. I write, I sketch, I design characters, I dream… I daydream a lot.

What is your main source of inspiration?
I get inspired by anything and everyone around me. Everything! And now that I think of it there isn’t anything prettier than being driven by the work of an artist, to dive into his references. So yeah, I get inspired even from silence.

DREAMER?
Since birth. DNA, genetics. I thank my parents for that. I had always been a dreamer. This is the name I gave to my tumblr page, DREAMER. Dedicated to those that inspire me without them knowing, as they pass by. To all that insist on dreaming, or daydreaming.

What exactly is painting with closed eyes and did you come up with it?
It’s a creative path for everyone, it’s a surprise! It stems from my curiosity for the final result. I wanted to experience the feeling of painting selectively, no seeing. Not seeing the margins of the page the margins of myself… Seeing, not seeing, allowing your feelings to come forward, undressing the soul. I urged friends and relatives to try it. You try it. Personally, I was shocked both with my results and with the results of others as well. In the coming future I hope to set up some workshops with kids. I’d like to share this pretty experience.

Could you ever live without designing?
I could. But I would be deprived of the joy of being creative. What purpose would it have? (smile)

Your favorite spot in Athens?
Lecabetus.

Your favorite project?
Umm, all of them? I have a soft spot for my Yeti character that participated in Pictoplasma’s showcase “Missing Link Project” in Paris ((http://paris.pictoplasma.com)

Your top 5 sites?
Just five? Do you carry a pen?
Anything else you want to add?
